American Blackout

back to projects
Synopsis

The lights went out all over America.
At first, everyone found it funny. People got their phones out and filmed each other lighting candles. Then it wasn’t so funny. The lights didn’t go back on.

The authorities told us not to worry – that order would be restored. But food became scarce. Riots broke out over loaves of bread. Shops and homes were looted. There was chaos and terror. But people carried on filming. As long as there was battery life on their phone, they documented what was happening.
