American Dynasties: The Kennedys is a six-part CNN documentary series that reveals how the personalities, relationships, motivations and convictions of America’s ‘first family’ helped shape the politics of a nation. It explores how the family’s aspirations informed and influenced seismic national and global events during one of the most transformative periods of American history. It is narrated and executive produced by award-winning actor Martin Sheen.

Coming from humble, immigrant origins to become one of the richest and most powerful families in the country, the Kennedys personified the American dream. Through six episodes, we trace the journey of family patriarch Joseph P. Kennedy and his sons – John known as ‘Jack’, Robert known as ‘Bobby’, and Edward known as ‘Ted’, as they carve out their political and personal identities on the public stage. We explore how the family’s dynamics and relationships contributed to this extraordinary dynasty and their pursuit of political power.
