Race For the White House (Series 2)

Synopsis

The campaign for the Presidency of the United States of America is a no-holds-barred battle to become the most powerful person on the planet. It’s a two-year war culminating in a single night of heart-pounding tension. The stakes don’t get any higher. Heroes and villains compete, dirty tricks are deployed, epic speeches are made from masters of oratory, billions of dollars are spent and finally a winner is crowned in spectacular fashion.

Think you know the stories? Think again. Elections are won and lost behind the scenes. Small details, insider power plays and Machiavellian scheming, all influence the results. After years of campaigning it can come down to a stolen debate book, a secret meeting, or a single attack ad – one moment that can make the difference between absolute power and absolute failure.

Narrated by Mahershala Ali; these six documentaries, spanning almost a century of American political history from 1912 to 2008, will tell the story of one election. Each episode is an epic and exhilarating rollercoaster ride.

This is the Race for the White House.
