SILK ROAD

Synopsis

In 2011 a mysterious persona operating under the avatar the ‘Dread Pirate Roberts’ revealed himself as creator and administrator of a sensational new Dark Net website known as the ‘Silk Road’. Promising its users complete anonymity, and total freedom from government regulation or scrutiny, it became a billion-dollar digital cartel – “The Amazon of Illegal Drugs”.

Homeland Security, the DEA, the FBI, even the Secret Service each mounted their own investigation in the largest on-line manhunt the world had ever seen. But it would be a young tax inspector from the IRS, who had grown up in the projects of Brooklyn and who’d seen first-hand how drugs could ravage a community, who would finally crack the case and unmask ‘DPR’ as Ross Ulbricht, a handsome, gifted, ‘respectable’ college graduate from Austin, Texas.
With unparalleled access to the friends and lovers of Ross Ulbricht, DPR’s lieutenants and drug vendors, and the myriad of law enforcement agencies desperate to bring him down, ‘Silk Road’ is a thrilling cat-and-mouse crime story for the digital age, bristling with intrigue, mayhem – and murder.
