back to projects
Synopsis

In 1981, ten-year-old Ursula Herrmann disappeared whilst cycling home. She was locked inside a buried box with a pile of comics and some sweets, then left to suffocate while her kidnappers attempted to extract a two million deutschmark ransom. In 2010 a neighbour was sentenced to life imprisonment, a conviction that was based entirely on circumstantial evidence which many continue to question. The documentary follows the efforts of the victim’s brother, Michael, as he seeks the truth, whilst new scientific findings cast doubt on the safety of the conviction.
