Heathrow: Britain's Busiest Airport (Series 8)

Heathrow is back!   Because Travel is back!  And Britain’s Busiest Airport is flying into its toughest summer ever.   Returning to the screen this year it’s bigger and better with a new 60-minute duration and a time of 9pm.   This is Heathrow like never before: under extreme pressure from a deluge of passengers, new planes and staff shortages.

Returning favourites include Passenger Service manager Demi who has his hands full with 200,000 passengers inside the terminals; meanwhile Airside Ian – equipped with his handlebar moustache – is out on the airfield trying to keep the runway ready for the 1000s of planes now landing and taking off every day.  Joining them this year are new Heathrow heroes : Engineer Cat,  Baggage Handler Darren and Plumber Sean…. all struggling to keep Heathrow going, but always with a smile on their face!

This series delves deeper behind the scenes than ever:  as well as passengers facing delays, cancellations and missing luggage, there are terminals being transformed into drama sets, 122mph winds damaging the airfield – and plenty more drama along the way…
